Randomly duplicate files with send to folder

$

I have been struggling with this issue now for a while and thought I would ask around now. I have a process from a Konica Minolta MFP that sends to a folder after being processd with abby to do zonal ocr and capture the meta data to put into the pdf properties, which then we pick this up and put into a ecm software. Well during the initial installation I was renaming the file based on a selection the user made at the display panel of the mfp so the file would be name {vendor name_job number.pdf}  We have been finding that we end up with some documents coming into the ecm upto 9 duplicates of the same document and the names would have a count at the end of the file name like this  {vendor name_job number(1).pdf},  {vendor name_job number(2).pdf},  {vendor name_job number(3).pdf} and so on...

I removed the renaming and now I am no longer able to see the duplicates in the log files as it uses the BatchID number to name the files, but I am still getting duplicates. I have the security all set up in the send to folder using the domain admin account, which is also the credential that the autostore service is running with.   The folder that the send to folder is pointed to is on another server which I have given full control to everyone and read/write access to everyone as well.

This is autostore version 6sp1 I have installed all of the latest updates for all of the components as well.

Any suggestions??

Split by barcode

Hello,

I have a complicated issue to do with AutoStore. The task is the following:

Sperate the captured documents by barcodes.
-The 1st barcode's data represents the custumer (for example company1)
-The 2nd barcode's data represents the type of the document (for example invoice)
-After these barcodes, we are using a simple separator page to split multiple documents from the same company and the same document type.
All the documents have to be saved with the right file name (company, documentum type, date, time, etc...)

Here is an more detailed example:

COMPANY1 (page 1)
|-INVOICE (page 2)
|-page 3-5 (this shoud be the 1st document, named company1_invoice_... )
|-SEPARETOR (page 6)
|-page 7-9 (company1_invoice_...)
|-CONTRACT (page 10)
|-page 11-13 (company1_contract_...

And so on...
I have to check if the company or the document type variable changes, and carry on the variables through the whole process.

Now I'm trying to solve this situation with a VBS inside the Barcode component, but - as far as I know - this component can't pass back variables to the AutoStore. Is there any acceptable (and fairly fast) way to split the captured document?

Termination script

Hi.

We are going to take a closer look at the content management queue because it could solve some load balancing issues.
This component needs a termination script to clean up the database after execution.
I have been looking for documentation or samples of this termination script. But I haven't been able to find it.

The only documentation I've been able to find is in an old version 4.6 manual.
This gives the commands:
QueueItem.RemoveItem
QueueItem.QueueName
QueueItem.Active

Is this the complete list of commands recognized by the QueueItem object?
Or where do I find the documentation/samples?

Hi All,

I've just trued to restart the autostore service, but I'm getting the error "Unable to start service with configuration file".  The knowledgebase mentions Empty tasks and to check that the process directory exists.  All seems fine, however I cannot start the service.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

ricoh mfp on a fiber wan - no longer scans

I have a client that has a centos 6.2 server. They have 5 seperate offices. They use a Sonicwall with VPN's to communicate back to the server. Each location has pc's running xp's and they have various Ricoh MPF's in each location. The XPs have twain software that is called by the Centos server to scan a page on the ricoh. Even though the Ricoh's have document feeders, the customer loads each page on the scanner and presses enter at the pc until the last page then the client presses cancel and then the centos moves the tiff image off the pc to the centos server and places meta tags to the image. ( This was done by their software company and WAS WORKING). The customer has had to implement ipad that needed to reach amazon cloud through the ISP. The Ipads do not work or touch the Centos and/PC XP machines. The Ipads were too slow on the current ISP which was running over a 3 megabyte cicrut. The client went to AT&T 20 meg circut over fiber. The only equipment that changed was the equipment that the phone company supplied.  The public numbers changed as did the DNS. The pulbic number was changed in the Sonicwall, and the DNS was changed on the Centos machine, the XP's as well as the Ricoh MFPs.

The centos and xp's continued to work without a hiccup. The printer portion of the Ricoh's worked without changing anything on the Centos side, so I believe the network is running correctly. The issue the customer now seems to have is that when they are scanning from any of the four locations not internally they are only able to scan between 4 to 8 pages before the pc will lock up. The PC has to be rebooted by pressing the reset button or turning on or off. The PC's do not lockup at any other time other than when they scan across the network to the server.

The customer can scan locally in which the server is located without a problem. It seems to be only scanning remotely to server, yet the printing still works.

The ipads were on the old ISP for over five months before AT&T was able to bring in new circut. They were slow, but the XPs were able to scan through the VPN sonicwall. Nothing else has changed. No new software. No new drivers..... Though I loaded a new twain driver on a new XP PC and took it to a remote office and it had same problem as their pcs. I was just trying to elimate anything that might be the cause. No new hubs.

Can you shed any light on this for me, or point me to someone who might be able to help. (The Ricoh company will only deal with their Ricoh dealer, who says it has to be a network issue and isn't helping me slove the customers problem.) It might very well be a network problem, but where do I turn to fix this. I have asked AT&T to make sure all ports are open. They say yes. Is there something else I am missing.

Is there some kind of handshaking that is different on fiber that is getting lost.....

On the centos server, I am not getting any errors in any of my logs. I am kind of lost as where to look next.

I am not scanning to an email, nor am I scanning to a folder. The XP is scaning the document through its twain driver called by a program on the centos machine. When cancel is hit so it does not scan another page, the tiff is transfered to the centos box and attached to the client record. The odd thing is this worked before changing to fiber, now even after the pc freezes, and is rebooted the data ends up on the Centos server even if locks up before the client presses cancel for next page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Xerox WC 5475

I have two Xerox WC5475s and a very simple workflow setup.    On the other xerox models the flow works perfectly.  The file is brought to the nsi server and then put into the network location.   On the 5475 we see frequent failures, often silent.

I use FTP as the transport, and have turned on the logging.   It appears that the outbound FTP is never initiated from the Xerox device.   I just last friday put on the latest and greatest Xerox software 061.132.224.01001.  And now there is a popup that states that the device ran out of memory, after which no further jobs are processed until the printer is reset.

My question(s)

1.  Is there a log from the Autostore component on the printer that I can get access to to see what is happening from the autostore side.   Xerox have logs but they encrypt them so that their customers can't see what is going on.
2.  Is there a means of setting up a retry, or a fail and restart option for jobs like this?
3.  Jobs that are processed post the error message scan successfully, and there is no report on the device that there is an issue.   However these jobs are never sent to the autostore server and there is no log of any action being taken.   The only means of knowing of an error is to restart the printer.   Is this a fault of the autostore  component, or is this simply something that the xerox device is hung on and it is up to xerox to fix it.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

we have a problem in AS Workflow with the new ABBYY FineReader 10.5 Process Component after upgrading from version 9.

We will haven't get an error message before update, after the upgrade in Status Monitor and Log in every Job it seen an error, that the additonal engine for ABBYY FineReader OCR license was not properly registered. I don't understand this, because we had no additonal install and the version 9 doesn't call any errors.

unable to upload User Configuration file

Hello

we have one Kodak SS500 in our office that is connected to the network

it has one profile currently in it (that was configured by a person no longer with the company) that has scan settings for everyone in the office, so it works.

however, we can't seem to be able to edit this.

I have installed the admin software.
I can connect/see the scanner.
I can access the existing User Configuration, and make edits to it, and then save it.

but i cannot, as per the instruction manual, upload it to the scanner.

the error that i get is:

"the file <file path> cannot be uploaded because it is a User Configuration file.

which is quite comical..

now, i can take said config and put it on a USB, and the scanner recognizes it, but would prefer to be able to make remote changes as intended.

please help, what could be the issue?

regards

KPL With Enhanced Send to Folder

I know this is not a supported component, but I have used ESTF numerous times in the past to append pages to PDF files.  I have just tried to use it in a KPL task and it kills connection to the Xerox EIP MFDs.  If I take the ESTF component out of the task everything comes back and works fine.  It also works fine if I put the ESTF in the same task as the EIP capture component.  Does anyone know if there is an open source version of this component newer than V_APR2012 that might have addressed this issue?

Change the scanning settings in form plugin

Is it possible to change the scanning settings (e.g. File Format, Resolution, Color Mode) for the Konica Minolta MFP directly from the C# source code, in the form plugin?
We usually scan our files as TIFF, but we want to scan as Compact PDF if the user selects a checkbox on the form.

Thanks!

Recognize white text

We have a customer that prints a report and on that report are fields for customers email address.  I need to capture that email address via zonal OCR.  However, the text is white so that it is hidden.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I can grab this text?  Abbyy needs to have it at least black text so that it can OCR it.

Any thoughts would be great!

Thanks in advance!

How can I activate a component via VBScript?  I am trying to conditionally activate the SMTP eConnector.  I've tried SMTPSFilter.ACTIVATE = YES or ISMTPS.SMTPSFilter.ACTIVATE = YES but apparently that's not the method.

Thanks in advance!

Completed Job in vbScript, but have file in REJECT folder

$

Hi,

I have a process in which I route the files from a Knowledge Package to their destination via a vbscript and set the KnowledgeObject.Status = 0 'KO_STATUS_OK

The process stops here, but copies the file into the REJECT folder which is very bad for monitoring errors.

I tried to delete the file from the job with KnowledgeDocument.Visible = False, but it doesn't work.

Does anybody have an idea, how to prevent Autostore from copying the file into the REJECT folder?

Quality of scanned PDF documents

Dear experts

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place!

After we have purchased Autostore we have run into some problems regarding the quality of the scanned PDF documents.

Our setup consists of one Autostore server (Windows 2008 R2) and our printers are Xerox WorkCentre 7346.

Without Autostore our printers are scanning exactly as we want them to. Except our employees often have to wait between

each job while the printer is processing the job. This is the sole reason for us buying Autostore.

Default settings (Xerox WorkCentre 7346)

Color Scan: Auto detection

Type: Foto and text

Fileformat: PDF

Compression: JBIG2 (aritmetrisk) /JPEG

MRC: Big compression

OCR: Enabled

Autostore settings

AutoStore Express 6 Process Designer: 6.0.0.33

AutoStore 6 Framework Extensions

FineReader 9 & Professional Barcode Updates v.3.00

AutoStore 6 Service Pack 1

Xerox EIP Connect Updates v.2.00

FineReader 10.5 Add-On v.1.00

Autostore Workflow

Xerox EIP Connect -> ABBYY FineReader OCR -> VB/Jscript -> Multi Router

Our problem with Autostore is that ABBYY FineReader OCR (our theory) is not always able to detect the type of scan (color, black/white, grayscale), which then

results in unusable scans, regarding graphics and pictures e.g. molecules, charts, X-rays, PET-scans. It is not an option for our employees to select the scan type (color, black/white, grayscale) since this would require to look through each page being scanned and determine the type.

How can we use Autostore and get the same results as we do with Xerox WorkCentre 7346 default settings?

Can the IMAP capture component be used to capture messages and attachments from an Outlook 365 account?  Is the IMAP component included with AutoSore Express, or only with Workflow?

RE-order Fields

Does anybody know a trick to re-order the way that user fields appear on the MFP without deleting and re-creating them?  I called support and they say no, but I'm just shooting in the dark here...
